The team Kosner – Saltoki Home was officially presented this weekend at Cambrils (Tarragona) for their participation in Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023, which will be held from April 30 to May 5. The team members are committed to the town of Tarragona, where they have developed a specific preparation for the test in conditions similar to those found during the race in the desert of Moroccan. Next month, the ‘titans’ of Kosner – Saltoki Home will continue their preparations to face the race with the highest guarantee, which is considered one of the toughest in the world.

Kosner – Saltoki Home it set up a top-level team, made up of clients, employees and professional cyclists, such as Miguel Indurain, winner of five Tours de France and two Giro d’Italia; Connie Looserwinner of the last edition or Vera Looserwinner of a stage in Morocco in 2022 and winner of Titan Desert Almeria.

Exactly, Miguel Indurain did not want to miss a weekend where, in addition to preparing the sands and dunes with two bicycle excursions, there was also time to deepen the cooperation and effort as a basis for success, which complemented the preparation, in addition , with technical talks on nutrition, mechanics, navigation and the main aspects to consider during your own Titan desert. In this sense, the champion of Navarrese indicated what is needed to successfully face the race: “To get to one of these challenges, you have to master the bike and have the experience of doing the kilometers, going through the suffering and having a strategy.”

A weekend that was really beneficial for the exam, as the team coach said, Pau Marza: “We have had good time, we have had a good time, there has been a good vibe among all and we have been able to pedal, which is what we like”.

SOLIDARITY INITIATIVE

The team’s participation in the race will also have an important charitable aspect, as it will donate 1 euro to the Luzón Foundation for every kilometer covered by its parts in the race to help fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). So that the members of Kosner – Saltoki Home can travel as many kilometers as possible, Juan Carlos Unzué, a former soccer player and former professional coach who has been fighting the disease since 2019, wants to join the initiative with a motivating message to the ‘titanes’, who also had their moment of concentration this weekend in Cambrils.

August Pascual, Team Manager of Kosner – Saltoki Home and legend of the Titan Desert with 17 editions behind him, indicated that he will put his vast experience at the service of his teammates: “This year I will take it differently than other years, work more for the team so they don’t miss you’re welcome and have a good time”.

Among team members, Pilar Fernández, Spanish MTB Ultramarathon champion and winner of a stage at Titan Desert 2022confident to play a good role in the test: “We are ready, we are a good team, we are three very strong girls that I think we can help each other and make a good Titan as a team. The sensations are good, now important races are coming up before Titan and they will also give us that competitive point”.
