In his presentation as the new ambassador of Pont Grup Dani Pedrosa spoke about the challenges he faces in 2023, the ‘wild card’ of the Spanish GP which he faces “with enthusiasm and a little uncertainty” and his new task as a commentator from DAZN where he will try to “pass on my knowledge”.
The former Repsol Honda team rider and current KTM tester has joined the Malaga insurance broker to contribute his knowledge and experience in the world of motorcycling: “I am happy to be able to share my experience in the world of competition and transfer it to the road safety section , to try to inform all drivers -whether in the city or on the highway- about safer driving”.
Pedrosa, who retired from circuits in 2018 with three World Championship titles (one in 125cc and two in 250cc) and three runner-ups in the premier class, is a reference for many bikers. That is why he was chosen by the Andalusian company to give advice related to road safety to his followers, with the aim of achieving more attentive and safe driving. Catalan will discuss aspects such as equipment, the need to drive in anticipation of risks or the advice of improving technique in driving courses.
His union with Pont Grup also saw his debut as a commentator on the Motorcycle World Championship broadcasts on DAZN. It will be a new professional phase that motivates him especially: “Being a commentator is a new challenge. Trying to express the things I see, details that may be interesting to the viewer and thus see if we can send a little knowledge, now that the competition is too technical”.
The man from Castellar del Vallés will get rid of the competition bug at the next Jerez GP, a Spanish event where he will participate as a ‘wild card’: “I’m looking forward to it because all the fans will be in Jerez, but there also a little uncertainty because of not running for a long time. In recent years, the competition has changed a lot. In technology, in aerodynamics, the lap times are faster. The competition is very strong and the times are very tight . We’ll see how we handle the Grand Prix. We have a series of tests to do and we have to compete at the same time”.
