There is already a proposed minimum wage for women’s football

Date:

The agreement between patron of women’s football and the unions it’s closer than ever, as we anticipated last Monday in MD. This was clear in Tuesday’s meeting between women’s employers and the union on Tuesday and was also promoted by this newspaper. In it, the five unions (FUTPRO, AFE, Futbolistas ON, UGT and CCOO) presented the following proposal to the clubs: 20,000 euros of minimum salary for the current season of 2022-23 and that it will also be retroactive in time . the collective agreement will take effect. Both proposals from the five unions include an increase to 25,000 euros next season.

As we say, the joint proposal of the unions represents a significant reduction compared to the previous one that spoke of an increase of up to 35,000 euros in an agreement signed over three years. This new approach is closer to the proposal presented by the employers on January 18 and started with a minimum wage of 17,000 without any discrimination from football players. In other words, full dedication to professional activity.

The same proposal proposes a growth of 500 euros for the next five years until it reaches 19,500 euros and is also retroactive once the new agreement enters into force. The agreement currently in force establishes 16,000 with 75% partiality.

Now, the employers must study this new scenario of the unions and give their view in the next meeting they set for the return of Easter. And this is after when the clubs propose their new scenario as a result of this new offer. What is certain is that 20,000 is very close to what the F League suggests, but 25,000 is still far from what they consider clubs viable.
