In Marchtrenk (Upper Austria), an unknown person was brutally stabbed on the street on Friday morning. The victim was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he died shortly afterwards. The search for the possible perpetrators was successful.
At around 7:20 a.m. on Friday, Marchtrenk became the scene of a heinous crime. A man was so badly injured in a knife attack on the street that he could no longer speak. The victim was immediately taken to the Wels Clinic. It died there shortly afterwards.
Nothing is known about the identity of the victim. The man had no papers with him.

After the fact, two fugitives were sighted. A massive manhunt was underway for them. When asked by Krone, a police spokeswoman could not yet confirm whether the two had anything to do with the crime. The police were able to apprehend a suspect near the Bindermichl tunnel in Linz and a second was arrested in a coffee house.
