Haaland is back to aim for all things City and sink Southampton

Date:

Erling Haaland it is back. The 22-year-old Norwegian forward wants to make his exhibition clear and double lead the success of Manchester City over Southampton (1-4) allowing Pep Guardiola’s men to combine their good dynamics in the Premier, stalk Arsenal and aim for everything, while sinking the Ruben Selles below the table.

The Premier’s top scorer, coming off a groin injury, has reappeared with his usual bite to add 30 goals in 27 Premier League games and 44 so far this season, in all competitions. This would not be possible without your great ally debruyne, who added a whopping hundred assists and left City’s first goal to his partner on a platter. The second was a big Chilean from the Nordics that will possibly remain the best goal of the day.

The game struggled to find rhythm and opportunities. There was a little bite in the first half. At 5′, Grealish had the best chance to score first, but Bazunu managed to keep his shot out. In the 32nd minute there was a header from Ilkay Gundogan Very heel from the right, with the help of Kevin De Bruyne with a cross into the area, as a new warning from City.

A 70-metre one-on-one between Sulemana and Aké woke Southampton up unconcerned, but Ederson was unconcerned. On 41′, Halland tried with a point-blank header that went just wide. It was on the edge of the break when the Norwegian himself scored with a header from very close to the center of the goal from a pass from De Bryune.

In the second half, City came ready to kill. After two consecutive chances from Ilkay Gündogan and Kevin De Bryune, the decisive goal came in the 58th minute from the boot of Jack Grealish with a shot with the right from the center of the area to the upper left corner. Guardiola’s men wanted more.

And in 68′ he did it again Haaland with the most impressive goal of the day: Chilean shot with the left from the center of the area to the center of the goal after an assist from Jack Grealish. At 0-3 Southampton woke up and Sékou Mara finished with his right foot from the center of the area from below, next to the left post in an attempt to close the gap and make the score 1-3.

The joy was short-lived, because in the 75′ the fourth goal for Guardiola’s men came with a penalty converted by Julián Álvarez to make it 1-4 definitively after a foul committed by Kyle Walker -Peters after a foul inside the area. In the end, a resounding victory for Guardiola’s team, who are awaiting a breakthrough from Arsenal to continue fighting for the league title.
