Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that the team has struggled to compete and at the moment it is not 100%.
“It was a difficult game, it was difficult to recover the ball, they handled it well, we had chances and we managed to make it 3-1, and then we could have slowed down the game, but it didn’t happen and it wasn’t we defend well. We could defend better. The truth is it’s difficult for us to be 100% motivated, it’s quite normal,” he said.
Regarding the fact that they are coming from the Cup and possibly thinking higher in the Champions League, the coach explained that “yes, but if you are not at 100% you have to be better on the field, we are not organized, they are well handled the ball and we struggled to get it back. We didn’t take chances to make it 3-1, like we did in previous games”.
And about whether the defeat causes doubts for Wednesday, he pointed out that “no, there is no doubt. Knowing that it can be complicated, it happened and Wednesday is another story. The temperature of the boiler has dropped a little today, but by Wednesday it will be full.”
