Tiafoe left Davidovich at Estoril ATP and advanced to the semis

American Frances Tiafoe, number 29 in the world rankings, left Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich from the Estoril Open on Friday in three sets in a match of alternatives and very close and will play in the semifinals of the Estoril Open this Saturday.

In an encounter that lasted three hours, Tiafoe got the first set in the “tie break”, 7-6 (5), but the Spaniard was able to be superior in the second, which he won 5-7.

Ultimately, Tiafoe proved passing the semifinals in the third set that he won 7-5 after surpassing the first advantage of the tennis player from Malaga, a recent finalist in Monte Carlo, who did not know how to finish the job and finished removed, remaining in the doors of the semifinals.

The American tennis player will play a pass in the final of the Portuguese tournament against the winner of the duel between Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime and American Sebastian Korda.

Another Spaniard, Albert Ramos, made it to the semifinals on Friday when he defeated his compatriot Fernando Verdasco in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).

In the semifinals they will face Argentine Sebastián Báez, who rose to Frenchman Richard Gasquet from Estoril 3-6, 6-1 and 6-4.

The Estoril Open, an ATP 250 clay court tournament, will be held in the Portuguese town until May 1st.
