The family of Samuel Eto’o is grieving the death of his father, David Eto’o, at 71 years old in Yaoundé, Cameroon. According to Cameroonian media, the father of the former soccer player died after a long illness.
David Eto’o is the father of six children, including former Barça player and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), Samuel, who has highlighted on more than one occasion the importance of his father in his career. In a post on his Facebook, in 2015, he expressed his gratitude to his father for “showing him the way” and for transmitting “the values of love, unity and work”.

Samuel’s brother, David, shared an image with his father on Instagram confirming the sad news. “Goodbye Mbombo”, he published with a photo with several hearts.
