warm meeting

Date:

This Wednesday they were quoted in Madrid professional football clubs for the Extraordinary Assembly held two weeks ago by The league. An appointment that will also have the presence of the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, which is unusual for this type of meeting. who wouldn’t be Florentino Perez delegating to its CEO, José Ángel Sánchez. Forty-two clubs are expected, both 20 of the First Division and 22 of the silver category.

Some are the points seen in the order of the day. The fourth and last, but most important, is the one that concerns everything related to arbitration: “Analysis of the arbitration situation. Next day delivery service. Analysis of the Barcelona-Negreira Football Club case”.

Joan Laporta is expected to give explanations to the clubs as he did on Monday in a press conference. But in addition, and as we have said in this newspaper, they are students who are searching a model where the arbitration body is independent of both the RFEF and LaLiga. The clubs want to find a solution to the current status and an alternative model, such as English or German.

The first is based on an independent institution born in 2001. In Germany The new model was changed on January 1, 2022: referees no longer report directly to the Federation, but to an independent body of which 51% is under federal control, while 49% depends on bundesliga.

182,000 euros, the new minimum wage in the First Division

The third item on the agenda of the Assembly this Wednesday, but the first of the big items of the day, is the Collective Agreement that governs the relationship between professional clubs and the AFE union. An agreement that went into effect on July 1, 2016 and was supposed to end on June 30, 2020, but for various reasons was extended until now.
As we already expected last Saturday in Mundo Deportivo, this new agreement will be valid for four seasons. Its commencement should be dated July 1, 2022, as it will be retroactive and will be valid for four seasons, ending on June 30, 2026.
In the new articles, the most important change lies in the guaranteed minimum wage for both First and Second division football players.
In the agreement signed during the 2016-2017 season, a minimum salary of 155,000 euros was agreed in the First Division, to which we must add the increase to the annual CPI. In the case of Segunda, the minimum annual salary for the 2016-2017 season is 77,500 euros, also including the annual IPC increase.
In the new First Division, the minimum salary will start at 182,000 euros and it will be close to 200,000 in 2025-2026. In the case of the Second, it will start at 91,000 euros and end up close to 100,000

A debate that is also taking place in just two and a half months before the end of June 30 arbitration agreement who currently manages Spanish professional football since August 9, 2018.

There are some issues involved in this agreement and that should be renegotiated. starting with him salary of college First and Second. In the first case, it is currently around 300,000 euros per year. In the silver category it stands at 140,000. Meanwhile, the emoluments of VAR referees are around 150,000 euros. Club expenses. The agreement also includes allowances for travel, training courses, etc.

Here it is added that in the next months it should also be known who will win the VAR tender in Spain and whose tournament the RFEF just released. Everything indicates that it will continue to be Hawk Eye (Hawk Eye). The winner must guarantee the application of semi-automatic offside.
