Laia Sanz, one of our best athletes in history, will participate in the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco. He will do it in the KH-7 team with Melcior Mauri, Abraham Olano, Josep Betalú, Núria Picas, Sylvain Chavanel or the famous three Michelin star chefs, the Torres Brothers, and the best chocolatier in the world, Lluc Crussellas.
20 times world champion -14 in the test and 6 in the enduro-, winner of the women’s motorcycle category in the eleven editions of the Dakar in which she participated and the best overall ranking for a woman in the history of this race, with the ninth absolute position achieved in 2015, are some of the data of a woman that needs little introduction. Laia, In just a few days, he will face a new challenge, an adventure that will take him to Morocco to take part in the Titan Ebike, from May 2 to 6.
“The Titan has always caught my attention. This is done in a place that I know and the truth is that I am always laughed at. I’m excited to be involved, take it as something different from what I’m used to, a change of scenery”, commented Laia, an athlete of the highest level. He showed it on different types of motorcycles and last year he jumped to cars, where he managed to finish the difficult Dakar in his first participation on four wheels.
His training commitments, whether rolling or in the gym, are combined with bike rides, although “at the moment I am not ready to ride the Titan on a traditional bike and I will do it on an Ebike. I love the idea of living in the environment and enjoying the scenery. This will be a first contact. Maybe in the future I will consider doing it on a BTT. I’m not in charge”.
In this first involvement, he will do so with the KH-7 team and he will share adventures and experiences with a team where all types of cyclists coexist and where he has the unconditional support of the team leader, Melcior Mauri. “Me and Melcior have met, we have talked, he taught me the secrets of how to use the browser. It will be a big help to have him on the team. He offered me all his help and cooperation.”
Accustomed to competing in the desert, the Moroccan sand has no secrets for him. He spent countless miles training and competing. “I want to go back there”, he commented. In his Ebike adventure he will meet two of the best Spanish chefs, confirmed by the three Michelin stars of the Torres Brothers. “I don’t know them, but I’ve been told they’re very funny. We will be happy”, said Laia.
