About 200 male and female athletes participated in the Spanish Boxing Championship in the school category, which took place in Logroño from April 26 to May 1 when the teams returned to their place of origin. Many of the young people participated in the two modalities offered by the sporting event: Shapes, for students from 7 to 14 years old, and Schoolboys-girls, from 11 to 14 years old.
In the Forms modality, there were individual tests, without contact, and they performed exercises with the rope, shadow, and mitts or bag. In students and students there was controlled contact and there were fights in the ring both in the category of children (1 minute for each of the 3 rounds) and cadet (1 minute and a half for each of the 3 rounds). Sunday put an end to some exciting days.
Adapted boxing has also gained a lot of popularity
This adaptation is a reality in our country. So, it goes hand in hand Samuel García, from the Asturian Siempre Fuertes Club, who, like all his companions, participated in three modalities of forms (shadow, rope, mitts) with partial adaptation. Samuel gave a lesson in self-improvement, will and enthusiasm and raised the whole pavilion before his skill in boxing arts.
The competitions started on Thursday, April 27, and there are two venues, the Lobete municipal sports center hosting the Tatami Shapes tests, on April 29 and 30 (from 10 am to 2 pm). and in Adarraga technical center Schoolboys-girls competitions were held, in the ring, on April 27, 28, 29 and 30 (from 4 to 8 pm). Admission to all exams is free and open to all audiences.
The Royal Spanish Boxing Federation has made a remarkable effort with the Riojan Boxing Federation to carry out in the best way these Championships involving the highest number of participants so far, which opened to the public to see the competitions and enjoy this sport.
This Spanish Boxing Championship in the school category is organized by the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation and sponsored by the Government of La Rioja and Logroño City Council.
