Paula Badosa, no semifinals in doubles in Madrid

The Spanish Paula Badosa and the American Bethanie Mattek-Sands they remained at the gate of the semifinals of the women’s doubles tournament of Mutua Madrid is open after losing against the Belarusian assembled team Victoria Azarenka and the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia.

The duet formed by Azarenka and Haddad Maia won the 7-6(0) and 7-5 in one hour and 47 minutes and will face the winner of the match between the team consisting of the Czech Barbora Strycova and the Taiwanese Su-Wei Hsieh and the team consisting of the Canadian Leylah Fernández and the American Taylor Townsend.

Badosa, as was the case in singles, was eliminated in the fourth round, and had a bye in doubles in the quarterfinals.

On the other side of the table, the semifinals will be played by Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula against Ukrainian Marta Kostiuk and Romanian Elena Gabriela Ruse.
