Rodri This Tuesday has been more of a pillar for City of Manchester, who secured a 1-1 victory in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid. The tie will be decided on May 17 at the Etihad, with a place in the Istanbul final (June 10) at stake.
Rodri declared in front of the BT Sport microphones:
“It’s very difficult to come here. They (Real Madrid) are incredible. Sometimes it’s difficult to play against Real Madrid because they have a lot of quality.
The midfielder saw the game like this: “In the first 25-30 minutes we controlled the game, but for the first time they scored an incredible goal after we failed to press a little. But we stayed in the game even at the worst moment, it was difficult because way they defended. Kevin (DeBruyne) found the goal and in the last ten minutes we tried to keep the ball”.
Rodri, on De Bruyne: “He (De Bruyne) is an incredible player for us. He is always good and helps us when we need him. We suffered a bit and he gave us confidence. We know that whatever happened in this match, this would not be the end of the tie. We will need the support of our people. The tie is very close”.
