Modric: “We deserve more”

Date:

Luka Modricmidfielder of real Madridcommented that his team “deserved more” in the first leg of the semifinals of Champions League which ended in a tie to one against City of Manchester.

“We deserved more, but we will do it etihad with the illusion and confidence that we can win. No one comes out stronger. This is an open result. We know the game doesn’t end here. It’s a 50%-50% tie and it will continue like this”, he said to Movistar+.

“We finished the game well. I feel good. A result is still open and we played well. We know how they played, had possession, but they didn’t do much. We had more chances, what a pity for the goal. they scored against us; but everything is still open and we will go there to give everything”, he studied about the meeting.

“It was difficult to put pressure on them, but we were patient and we waited for our chance. They didn’t make much of the ball. We suffered, but we hung in there and we left with an advantage. After the goal we improved in pressing and in ball,” he continued.

“We corrected some things at half-time. The coach asked us to have more ball and create more. We knew that Camavinga I could go into the middle and it worked out well for us,” he added.

In addition, Modric commented on the anger of Real Madrid’s players and coaching staff after Belgian Kevin de Bruyne’s draw. “The referee has to whistle a corner, but he won’t give it; he could have whistled a free kick before… a penalty”, he assured.
