Decline in negotiations for collective agreement at Women’s League

Negotiations for a collective agreement in the Women’s League have stalled after a new meeting was held last Tuesday between employers and five unions: FUTPRO, AFE, Footballers ON, UGT and CCOO.

Because nothing was advanced in relation to the proposals that were already on the table in the meeting held last April. On the one hand, the employer exposed based on reducing the duration of the initial proposal agreement from five to four years; in addition to the increase in value they will reach in the final year of the agreement 2025-2026.

During that time the minimum salary will be 20,000 euros with 100% dedication. The previous one on the table, as we have already said in this newspaper, went through a five-year agreement, ending in 2026-2027 and with this development: 16,000; 17,500; 19,000; 19,500 and 20,000 euros.

A proposal that is still very far from the one presented last Tuesday and represents a new change with respect to the one already on the table. Until last Tuesday, the unions defended a salary of 20,000 euros for this 2022-2023 campaign (the agreement will be retroactive) and 25,000 euros for the 2023-2024 season. Agreement to last two years (2022-2023 and 2023-2024). Last Tuesday they added a third year to the agreement for the 2024-2025 season where they propose a minimum salary of 30,000 euros. A proposal that is very far from the employer’s proposal.

The two parts were summoned for the next month of June. That is, barring a surprise, this means that women’s football will not have a new collective agreement to replace the current one and therefore it cannot be retroactive to this season of 2022-2023.

There are only about ten days left for the First Division league to end, due to the celebration of Australia and New Zealand World Cup and which, in addition, contracts expiring on June 30.
