The Argentine coach assured that relegation is something that will come “processing” his team for a long time, although he admitted that until it was defined in a mathematical way “The illusion always remains.”

The coach preferred to focus on the present, as he indicated that Elche will face a rival on Sunday “excellent, extraordinary and led by a coach who has been very competitive for 13 years”.

“Knowing the differences in quality and hierarchy that exist among soccer players, we will go try together to try to compete”, said the man from Rosario, insisting that Atlético de Madrid is in one of the “best moments in recent times”.

“Atletico are competing expert. It has world champions, all international. They are very nice games to play,” said the coach, who despite praising Diego Pablo Simeone for his career avoided calling him a “model” to follow.

I don’t believe in models but to people. What he does is amazing, but I don’t think I can do well with what he does, but with how someone feels. I feel that I identify with him because of how he lives the matches, but I don’t aim to be anything but myself and put together a winning team that can compete”, argued the Elche coach.

Beccacece remembers that the Madrid team They have lost just two games since the World Cup break and he emphasized that he has found a midfield “that works” and appreciates that it “threatens all the time” in attack with his wing players and his reference striker.

The coach appreciates the importance of giving a good image in the last phase of the season “because It is important how we end up and the sensations, because they will mark the new we are looking for”.

“They have to work on thinking about what’s coming, wherever we are”said the Argentine, who appreciated that Elche had competed since his arrival, although he regretted that “at times”.

Beccacece downplayed his stats since coming to the team, where he added six losses and one win, choosing to “see” the glass as half full. “We improved in many statistics. It took the team 20 games to win their first game and us six, three times less”, he said.

The coach denied that his team, which must face several teams involved in the fight for permanence, could be classified as “judge of relegation”.

“We are professionals they play and compete. We will compete until the end, as we did in Almería. It doesn’t matter who is in front because we have to think about ourselves”, he concluded.
