Rahm likes the challenge of being the first Spaniard to win two majors in one year

Date:

Jon Rahmchampion of the Augusta Masters, said this Tuesday at the press conference before the PGA Championship that “when you have a good year, you have to increase”, and acknowledged that he likes the challenge of being the first capable Spaniard to win two ‘majors’ in the same course.

“I’m really looking forward to it, I’ve done something great this year and from now on it’s simply to do better, I hope I can do more. I would be the first Spaniard to win another big one, well I’ve said you there. Sometimes when you have a really good year, you have to add,” Rahm said at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

“I hope I can continue adding to that story,” added the Barrika man.

He admits that he is very satisfied with what he has achieved so far in his career and he always sets very high goals to push himself to improve on a daily basis.

“Many of them (the objectives that were proposed) were met. One thing is what I propose to achieve and another thing is what I get,” he explained.

“If I just set out to win one major, it might come, it might not. But if I set out to win 100 tournaments and 25 majors, even if I reach 30 tournaments and seven majors, it’s still great . career, when I finish I will say that I am very satisfied,” he continued.

This season, Rahm won the Augusta Masters, Genesis Invitational, Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express.

The PGA Championship will be held at Oak Hill Country Club from next Thursday through Sunday.
