Ancelotti’s future and the unwritten rules that put him in doubt

Date:

An unwritten rule at Real Madrid states that a coach who, in one season, does not win any of the major trophies (League or Champions League) does not continue in the position. And, by that rule, Ancelotti, who won the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the Copa del Rey, did not pass and must leave the white bench.

However, at Real Madrid they trust the Italian to fulfill his contract and stay in the position until 2024. This is what president Florentino Pérez said after the Copa del Rey final and Ancelotti confirmed it: “I want to fulfill my contract . The unwritten rules are sometimes not complied with”, he pointed out some press conferences ago.

After the defeat against Manchester City, Carletto was repeatedly asked to which he emphatically replied: “There is no doubt about my future, the president has said it.”

The dressing room, with him

On the other hand, a force that is also evident in terms of Italian continuity is that of the dressing room which, in the words of Vinicius, Kroos or Modric, is clear: “Of course, Ancelotti must continue.”

In this way, except for a radical turn of the helm, there will be no change of coach at Real Madrid. Although another unwritten rule at the Bernabéu is that everything can change overnight if the board thinks it’s best for the team.
