Magdalena Erikssoncaptain and one of the forts of Chelsea, announced Thursday that he will retire at the end of the season after six years in the blue shirt. The Swedish player broke the news with a statement via his twitter account. Something that, on the other hand, has been talked about for weeks, as some media have put him at Real Madrid.

});
Eriksson, 29, played 183 games for the Blues, winning 11 trophies, but his contract expired in June and he decided not to renew. The Nordic, who arrived at Chelsea from Linkopings in 2017, has been the captain of the team since 2019. “It is with great regret and a lot of emotion that I announce that my journey as a Blue will end. I see myself as very Privilege to be part of the history of this great club”, he said.
Eriksson has won several leagues with Chelsea (he could win this one too) and was one of the key players to reach the Champions League finals in 2022, won by FC Barcelona. “It’s hard to even speak. Everything seems unreal. It’s been an incredible time, the best time of my life,” he said in front of the cameras of the London club’s official media.
His coach, Emma Hayes, offered some kind words to Eriksson: “Chelsea will always be his club, it will always be his home. He will always be a legend here.”
