The TRAM Barcelona Open, International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament reaches its sixth edition as an ITF1 tournament. The competition starts this Wednesday May 24 and lasts until Sunday May 28. The TRAM Barcelona Open became the first ITF1 tournament in Spain and one of 10 tournaments in the world with this classification. In addition, a year later it ranks as the first tournament of the land tour before Roland Garros.
This year’s poster is truly extravagant, featuring the best wheelchair tennis players in the world. Among the participants in the men’s category is British Alfie Hewett, no. 1 in the world, Argentine Gustavo Fernández, two-time champion of the tournament and no. 3 in the world and Martín de la Puente, no.1 in Spain and no. 7 in the world, among others. In the women’s category, the tournament will feature Dutch Diede de Groot, no. 1 in the world, Japanese Yui Kamiji, no.2 and Chinese Zhen Zhen Zhu, no. 6 in the world.
The test will be held for another year at the facilities of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. This Tuesday the presentation was made in the center court, where they participated Gustavo Fernández, Martín de la Puente, Yui Kamiji and Angelica Bernal.

In this category, the tournament will also feature world number one, Dutchman Niels Vink.
