Spain and Brazil will play in the opening match of the U-20 Women’s World Cup on August 10 and will share Group A with host Costa Rica and Australia.
It was founded on raffle held at the National Theater of San José and with Costa Rican soccer legends Paulo Wanchope and Shirley Cruz as the ones in charge of drawing the names of the teams from the four pots.
Ang Group B It consists of Germany, Colombia, New Zealand and Mexico.
Ang Group C it consists of France, Nigeria, Canada and South Korea.
Ang Group D It consists of Japan, the Netherlands, Ghana and the United States.
Highlight that Two world champion teams in the category were placed in Group C: United States and Japan, the latter defending the title.
The tournament will take place from August 10 to 28 in two venues: ang San Jose National Stadiumwith a capacity for 35,000 viewers, and the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, located in the city of Alajuela, approximately 20 kilometers west of the Costa Rican capital, and has a capacity of 17,000 fans.

Pedro López, coach of the Spanish U-20 women’s team, assured that “we have a demanding group with the host, who has been preparing longer than any other team and the public favors him; Brazil is a superpower, the cradle of football, and Australia is a country that puts all means into the service of women’s football and will provide a good level ”. Pedro López also pointed out that “August is not a competitive month in Europe, but the motivation is more than any form. We hope to be up to the level shown by Spanish women’s football.”
