The first round of the TRAM Barcelona Open was held at the RC de Polo without any major surprises. In the morning, in the individual box
Men’s, featuring the victory of 2012 world number one, Stephane Houdet, against Sung-Bong Hang by 6/1 and 6/1. Daniel Rodrigues also advanced to the round, defeating Guilhem Laget 6/3 and 6/1.
The seeded men in the men’s singles category, who advanced directly to the second round, will debut this Thursday in the tournament, along with the women’s team.
Francisco García, the only Spanish representative on Wednesday, was eliminated by Costa Rican Jose Pablo Gil 7/6 and 6/0. Ho Won Im, Brayan Tapia, Alwande Sikhosana and Xiaomin Feng also advanced to the round.
In the individual quad category, intended for tennis players affected by upper and lower extremities, three matches were played and Tomas Masaryk, Guy Sasson and Leandro Pena advanced to the round.
