There are three stages left to find out who wins the 106th edition of the ‘Corsa Rosa’ and two really competitive days to find out the podium places on Sunday at Rome. Saturday’s brutal time trial and Friday’s tough mountain stage, 183 kilometers and 5,400 meters of descent.
A stage classified by the organization as five stars, of maximum difficulty, with several uphill kilometers on the way to the first mountainous difficulty of the day, PAsso Campolongo (2nd)followed by Valparola Pass (1st)he Giau Pass (1st)he Tre Croci Pass (2nd) and the outcome in The Three Peaks of Lavaredo (1st).
A constant up and down, a very good day for me ending with a very difficult final climb where a good part of the Giro d’Italia podium must be decided before the time trial on Saturday. The first 1.5 km with slopes of up to 18%, false flat at antorno lake and rapid descent 4 km from the finish line. The last 4,000 meters are around 12% with peaks of 18% at the finish. The finish line is on a 400 m, 7 meter wide paved straight line with a 12.5% gradient. A demanding territory where no one can hide and where the great favorites must be the protagonists.
