Bayern struck hard with the signing of Harder and Eriksson

Date:

Bayern Munich have delivered a coup by announcing today the inclusion of Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson, two of Chelsea’s key pieces. Both arrived at the Bavarian club at the end of their contracts and signed for three seasons

Eriksson, defender and captain since 2019, is Swedish, is 29 years old and ends six successful seasons at Chelsea, which he joined from Linkopings in 2017. With the ‘blue’ shirt he won five titles in the English Super League (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023), four FA Cups (2018, 2021, 2022, 2023), two League Cups (2020, 2021) and one Community Shield (2020), in addition to being runner-up in Europe in 2021 after losing the final against FC Barcelona (0-4). In the same season, the Catalans also beat Chelsea in the semifinals.

Harder, a 30-year-old Dane, joined Chelsea from VfL Wolfsburg in 2020 for 250,000 pounds (about 300,000 euros), a figure that at that time constituted record transfer in women’s football worldwide.

});

“Pernille and Magdalena are two top players with a lot of experience”, highlighted Alexander Strauss, coach of a Bayern that just won the Bundesliga.

Bayern’s coach was delighted

“They have won several trophies, participated in many important tournaments, at club level and also on the international stage with their national teams,” added Straus. “The addition of them both is perfect for our team and they bring more quality to our talented team. They will take us to the next level. We are very excited.”

Both players, who are a couple, revealed in May that they will leave Chelsea when their contracts expire and have been linked with a number of prominent European teams.
