In this way they continued this week with the preview of the documentary on José Ángel Iribar, the mythical Txopo. This work directed by Oier Plaza and produced by FMK Filmak and EITB still has no broadcast date, but some excerpts have already been revealed. Iribar himself attended this first official function accompanied by family members and surrounded by friends. Another act of recognition in full commemoration of his 80th birthday.
In this documentary, as explained by those responsible for it, in addition to Txopo himself, some emblematic former lions participated such as Javi Clemente, Zubi, Julen Guerrero, Dani and Peio Agirreoa, among others. Also appearing on the scene are Mariasun Quiñones, Unai Simon and Alex Padilla, goals that are currently working at the rojiblanco club.
The list of stars also includes the Williams brothers, Manolo Delgado and Jorge Valdano. Testimonies from Benito Lertxundi, bertsolari Jon Maia and Sarita Estevez, the first woman to do sports journalism in the State, were also collected. Members of the Zarautz Kirol Elkartea and the Escalza de Arrankudiaga supporters club also collaborated on the documentary.
“The work reviews the personal and sporting career of the mythical goalkeeper from Zarauz, collecting aspects and reflections on the most outstanding periods of his life,” the authors of this documentary point out. Documentary produced by FMK Filmak for EITB directed by Oier Plaza with scripts by Garazi Velasco, Pedro Mari Goikoetxea and Igor Salutregi; with Eider Plaza and Garazi Velasco directing the production; Kerman Goikouria was responsible for the image and Daniel Asua for the sound; and editing by Mikel Exebarria and Hannot Mintegia.
