The Spanish athlete Esther Guerrero achieved the minimum score required by World Athletics who participated in the 1,500 meter trial at Budapest World Cups (Hungary, August 19-27) after finishing on its sixth Sunday in the final of the meeting of Hengelo (Netherlands) with a time of 4:03.07 minutes.
Guerrero, fourth at the World Indoor Championships held in March in Istanbul, dropped 43 hundredths off the International Federation’s required record of 4:03.50 to clinch a World Cup ticket.
A bite that, however, did not allow the Girona woman to fight for the victory, which went to the Dutch sifan hassanbronze at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo, with a mark of 3:58.12.
Esther Guerrero, with a personal best of 4:02.41 minutes, managed, on the other hand, to lower the best Spanish record on the course, the 4:06.67 she signed on Wednesday in the French town of Montreuil.
