Carlos Alcaraz there will be a fifth date with the Greek Stefanos Tsitipas, first at Roland Garros. A few hours after the Murcian defeated the Italian Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2, the Athenian defeated the Austrian Sebastian Ofner, No. 118 in the world and came from the previous stage, by 7-5, 6-3 and 6-0.
It took more than 50 minutes for Tsitsipas to relieve Ofner’s excitement. With the first set won, the path is made for any semifinalist at Roland Garros 2020 and a finalist in 2021.
“His style suits me,” Alcaraz stressed before Tsitsipas made the logic come true on the Suzanne Lenglen Track, in one hour and 48 minutes.
The former warned of a 4-0 score for Alcaraz, with the recent rivalry in the final of Number of Godó Trophy. The Murcian reaffirmed the crown at RCT Barcelona, winning 6-3, 6-4, punishing a one-handed retreat from Tsitsipas. He had trained in that sense in his confrontation with Lorenzo Musetti.
