Palou kept up a very close fight, especially with Will Power and scott dixon throughout the hundred laps that had to be given to the layout of the motor capital, especially in the last section of the Grand Prix, with the accident of the Frenchman grosjean which caused the umpteenth caution and a sprint race in the final ten laps.

Palou closed well on the inside of turn three with an aggressive Dixon pushing too hard and seeing how Rossi passed him. the one of Sant Antoni Vilamajor -who managed all the restarts very well- could not claim the victory until the final stretch, with a new yellow flag eight laps from the end that did not spoil the good work of the whole weekend and helped him to achieve the second victory of the season, the sixth as an IndyCar driver and increase his difference at the front of the general classification, adding 273 points, 51 more than marcus ericsson and that’s 70 Joseph Newgarden.
