The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), ednaldo rodriguesconfirmed this Tuesday that he still maintains the intention to take the Italian Carlo Ancelotti for the position of Brazilian coach.
Ancelotti, the ‘Plan A’
“We made a plan, that ‘Plan A’, the one you know, Ancelotti, and as they say in the ‘ring’ (boxing), I still haven’t thrown in the towel,” he said. Rodrigues in the press after the draw for the Brazil Cup.
The head of the CBF announced that he intends to hold “several meetings in Europe” in the coming weeks to advance the hiring of a coach, a position that has been vacant since the end of tits after the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
Downplay the Italian statements
Rodrigues belittled the statements of ancelotti ensuring it continues for another year at real Madrid and noted that “because of contracts, people are cautious” in their claims.
He emphasized that if after his meetings in Europe he was convinced that plan A was not possible, from there he would look for “‘Plan B'”, although he promised to notify the press first.
Abel Ferreira, Jorge Jesús or Diniz, alternatives
In response to reporters’ questions, he confirmed that he had Portuguese-like names in mind Abel Ferreiraof palmeirasand Jorge Jesusof Fenerbahçe Turkish; or the brazilian Fernando Dinizof fluminense.
“They are excellent trainers, sure. All the ones you mentioned are excellent trainers. And there are other more, Brazil has several excellent trainers. The names are those that are in your radar”, commented.
