Leverkusen secured the pass for the Champions

Bayer Leverkusen earned qualification for the Champions League on Saturday thanks to a 2-4 victory over Hoffemheim, including coming back after twice behind on the scoreboard.

Leverkusen were also favored by the 1-4 defeat Freiburg received, fifth, against Union Berlin, as they now got four points from them with one more day in the Bundesliga.

Freiburg, despite the defeat, remain fourth so far, but could be displaced this Sunday by RB Leipizig if they beat Augsburg.

Leverkusen were left behind in the 23rd minute when Hoffenheim scored through Georgino Rutter. Patrick Schick then leveled at 34 ‘, but at 36’ Baumgartner again led Hoffenheim.

The German Cup final will be played by Leipzig and Freiburg, who are both already in Europe, so the second place for the Europa League will go to the sixth-placed team.

Cologne lost 1-0 to Wolfsburg but benefited from Hoffenheim’s defeat.

Union Berlin is in Europe

Union Berlin, sixth after a 4-1 win over Freiburg, is safely in Europe. The worst, in the Conference League. The Europa League is possible, it will be enough for them to win on the final day and if Leipzig are punched this Sunday they can still aim for the Champions League, even if they will need Leipzig and Freiburg to fail on the final day.
