Two people died on Saturday afternoon during an avalanche in Switzerland. Five others were injured and brought to hospitals, as the Bern Cantonal Police announced on the X platform.
The avalanche went into the West flank at 1.45 pm in the Swiss community of Lauterbrunnen. At that time, seven ski tourers and a ski tourer traveled in the area. Seven of them were dragged by the avalanche, a group of two and a group of five.
A man died in place, a second was animated again, but then died in the hospital. Five other people, including a woman, were able to set up the armed forces and fly to hospitals for care.

Another ski tourer who was in the area but was not bought away was not injured. Due to the bad weather conditions, it could only be flown out on Saturday evening.
