The Mexican police found more than 380 corpses in a private crematorium in Ciudad Juarez. As the authorities reported, the corpses were “stacked” in different rooms in the building without any recognizable order. They were “just thrown on the floor, without distinction, one for the other”.
For the time being there were “381 corpses that were deposited in the crematorium in an opposite basis and not cremated,” said a representative of the state of Chihuahua.
No ashes in urns – family members were cheated
All corpses were embalmed. Instead of ash, the family members had received “other material”. The authorities estimate that some of the corpses could have been up to two years.
The public prosecutor attributed the find of the “carelessness and irresponsibility” of the owner of the crematorium. You could “not take over more than you can process”. One of the managers of the crematorium had already confronted with the public prosecutor. The authorities initially did not say whether the corpses belonged to criminal violence.
