Joselu: “I was rogue to see what will happen and the ball fell for me”

Date:

Joselu Mato, forward of the Spanish team, told on Thursday how the goal scored against Italy, the last 2-1 victory gave his team the victory, and said that he was “rogue” to see “what happened” to finally get a rebound on a shot by Rodri where he signed his intent.

“It consists of having faith. The team played a great game. We dominated almost the entire second half. A ball was missing. I was rogue waiting to see what would happen, the ball fell there. I was with confidence. I’m happy because we’re in the final and we played a good match to deserve it”, he commented in statements to Televisión Española.

Joselu indicated that Spain seized its “moment” and deserved to reach next Sunday’s final against Croatia.

“Proud to have reached the final. There is a lot of talk, the press is very difficult and when you face a rival like Italy, you have to win. They are one of the favorites,” he added.

Finally, when asked about his possible future at Real Madrid, Joselu did not want to talk about it: “Now I enjoy it a lot, now we have to enjoy it. My family is here, they had an incredible journey and it is to be enjoyed”, he added.
