Steven Gerrard states that he has decided not to accept the offer to train at Saudi Arabia after several reports claimed that the former Liverpool captain was considering a proposal to become the manager of Al Ettifaq of the Saudi Pro League.
The 43-year-old coach guided Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title for 10 years in 2021 before moving to Aston Villa, where he was sacked in October. “I was invited to talk about a possible offer, and I went and listened to it,” the former England captain told Channel 4. “All of that I have been looking at in recent days. But as we are now, I will not accept the offer.”
Several high-profile names have been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent months since Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr in December.
