Faruk Hadzibegic, a former defender with other teams Betis, Sochaux and Toulouse, has stepped down as coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina after an agreement was reached by both sides.
As reported by the Bosnian Federation, this Friday its president, Vico Zeljkovicwith the director of selection, Zvjezdan Misimovic, and Hadzibegic himself and the decision was made for the coach not to continue.
The Federation thanked the former Betic defender “for his work, effort and professionalism during his time in charge of the A team and wishes him success in his professional career”.
Hadzibegic has been in office since January. It was his second spell in charge of the Bosnian team. He directed four games, with one win and three losses, which puts him in fourth place in group J of the qualifying phase for Euro 2024
Bosnia beat Iceland in the first match (3-0) and lost to Slovakia (2-0), Portugal (3-0) and Luxembourg (0-2), the last match, played on Tuesday, triggering the certain departure of Hadzibegic.
