The American Sebastian Korda no grass cover to Queen and beat the first British racket, Cameron Norrieby 6-4 and 7-6 (2) to enter the semifinals of the London tournament.
Korda will be playing in the eighth semifinals of his career at the ATP level, where he maintains a record of six wins and one loss, but this will be his first on grass. The American played a near-flawless game, with nine straight aces and 16 winners, to prevail over a Norrie who was not looking good.
The loss could have been quicker, had Korda taken advantage of the ‘break’ advantage he had in the second set, but the set was headed for a tiebreaker and the son of the legendary Petr Korda didn’t give him any options.
This Saturday, Korda will face the winner of the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Grigor Dimitrovwhich closes the day this Friday at Queen’s.
