Novak Djokovic hits Wimbledon

Date:

After a long vacation in Portugal and after starting training in Montenegro, the Serbian Novak Djokovic is at Wimbledon to begin the assault on his eighth title in all england club.

The Serbian landed this Saturday in the capital of London and moved directly to the Wimbledon grass to begin his preparations for third Grand Slam of the year.

Djokovic has made a habit of not playing official tournaments between Roland Garros and Wimbledon (the last time he did so was at Queen’s 2018, when he lost to Marin Cilic in the final) and will play only one exhibition in the next week, on Wednesday against Frances Tiafoe.

Djokovic spent the days after his third Roland Garros win with his family in Portugal, before doing some hard-court training in Montenegro.

From there, the Serbian moved to London, where he has not lost since 2017 and where he started as the main favorite for another year.

On the training courts of the All England Club, Djokovic filmed himself eating grass, one of his most classic celebrations as he lifted the gold cup.

One from Belgrade was accompanied to the British capital, in addition to his coach Goran Ivanisevicfor the Spanish Carlos Gómez Herrera, who he has played with at Roland Garros and in Australia and met while training in Marbella, where Djokovic owns a property.
