Italian Andrea Pirlo will coach Sampdoria, a club relegated to Italian Serie B, the Italian sports press announced today.
The Genoa-based (northeast) club has a two-year contract in place for the former Juventus coach and his official presentation is imminent, the same sources said.
Pirlo, a prolific Italian soccer star, agreed in May to leave Turkish team Fatih Kragümruk, after a season in which he finished seventh in the Ottoman Super League.
The 43-year-old coach previously managed Juventus in Turin between August 8, 2020 and May 28, 2021, a campaign in which he won the Italian Super Cup in 2020, the Italian Cup in 2021 and the Italian Serie A finished fourth.
