Ang RFEF just made the meeting official senior women’s team in view of Australia. It will be on Saturday, June 25, when the Nuevo Colombino Stadium in Huelva hosts matches for the women’s national teams. This was decided by the Commission for the Nomination of Parties of the Royal Spanish Federation (RFEF) in its last session, pointing to the capital of Huelva as the venue for this meeting of the group it leads. Jorge Vilda.
The designation is part of an agreement signed by the RFEF with the Junta de Andalucia with a total of 24 matches for national teams until 2025.
The senior women’s team will play in this match as part of its preparations for Euro 2022, which will take place in England. The Australian team will be a test in preparation for the maximum continental tournament, which will start just two weeks after the appointment in Nuevo Colombino.
‘Matildas’, as the ‘aussie’ team is known, was a high-level litmus test for Vilda’s team. The ocean team was fourth in the last Tokyo Olympics and in the last World Cup in France 2019 they fell (like Spain) in the round of 16, in their case by losing in the penalty shootout against Norway.
