Bilbao Athletic has been included in group II of the Second RFEF for the 2023-24 season, a group that also includes Arenas, Barakaldo and Gernika representing Biscayan football. The remaining fourteen teams belong to Euskadi, Navarra, La Rioja and Aragon.
The complete list of members in this second group of the Second RFEF is formed by San Juan (Navarra), Arenas (Bizkaia), Bilbao Athletic (Bizkaia), Barakaldo (Bizkaia), Brea (Zaragoza), Calahorra (La Rioja), Izarra (Navarra), Tudelano (Navarra), Egüés (Navarra), Alavés B (Araba), Gernika (Bizkaia), Náxara (La Rioja), Real Sociedad C (Gipuzkoa), Zaragoza Deportivo (Zaragoza), Barbastro (Huesca), Logroñes (La Rioja), Mutilvera (Navarra) and Utebo FC (Zaragoza).
Bilbao Athletic, with Gurpegi as coach, will start training on July 12. Murillo, as second, and Armando, as goalkeeper coach, will join Andosilla.
The Sestao River also has its rivals
Sestao River, the only Biscayan representative in the First RFEF, will be part of group 1 with Arenteiro, Lugo, Teruel, Sabadell, Fuenlabrada, Rayo Majadahonda, Osasuna B, Leonesa, Barça Atlètic, Nástic, Celta B, Deportivo, Real B , Real Union, SD Logroñés, Ponferradina, Tarazona, Cornellà and Unionistas de Salamanca. The green and black, with Aitor Calle as coach, is new to the category.
