The winning team of the 2023 World Cup will be awarded the Women’s World Cup Trophy which is considered a “trophy” owned by FIFA. The winning team will receive the trophy in a ceremony on the pitch immediately after the final match, and will return it to FIFA in the dressing room at the end of the final ceremonies and before leaving the stadium. At that time, the winning team will receive the FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions Trophy called the “Champions Trophy”.
All participating teams will receive a commemorative plaque and, in addition, the teams classified in the first three places will receive 50 medals each, which will be gold for the champion, silver for the runner-up and bronze for third rank.
There will also be a silver and bronze glove, boot and ball
But once the 2023 World Cup is over, FIFA will also award a series of accolades to conclude the upcoming World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Starting with Golden, Silver and Bronze Boots. The first one will be awarded to the player who scored the most goals in the last round. If two or more players score the same number of goals, the winner will be decided based on the number of assists for each, as established by the FIFA Technical Study Group. If two or more players are still tied after taking into account the number of assists, the winner will be decided based on the total minutes played in the final period. The player who played the fewest minutes takes first place. A Silver Boot and a Bronze Boot will also be awarded to the second and third top scorers.
The tournament also includes the Golden Glove where the best goalkeeper of the final stage, selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group, is awarded.
And individual awards include the best Youth Player of the final stage and include tournament players born on or after January 1, 2002. This will be decided by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
And finally there is the Fair Play Trophy for the players and team members who win the sportsmanship contest. Besides the medals and some diplomas, they are also given a voucher of 27,000 euros to be exchanged for sports equipment for the development of women’s football.
