The UAX University School Rafa Nadal School of Sport this weekend celebrated the end of his first promotion. 168 new graduates of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFYD), Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Degree in Physiotherapy and Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy, completed their student phase in a ceremony held at the UAX campus in Villanueva de la Cañada (Madrid) which houses this school’s modern facilities, including the recently inaugurated UAX Rafa Nadal Sports Center.
The graduation ceremony had the intervention of Rafael Nadal, who wanted to take the opportunity to face the first graduates in an emotional video in which he congratulated them and encouraged them to transfer the excellence gained in their training to their professional career. “You had the perseverance, enthusiasm and motivation to reach your goal and today is the day to celebrate it. You can be very proud of what you have achieved because you deserve it”. The tennis player also highlighted the sports values promoted by school in the comprehensive training of students, and ensured that the goals are achieved only “from enthusiasm, from teamwork and from daily work. Throughout my career I have followed a mottoa phrase I heard years ago from Nelson Mandela ‘Everything seems impossible until it’s over’ and the truth is that many times there are many things that seem impossible, from work and daily illusions, without realizing that one day you will achieve them”.
With him, the Rector of UAX, Isabel Fernández, addressed the students to invite them to “become Makers and lead a world that is experiencing an incredible moment marked by disruptive technologies such as Generative Artificial Intelligence that transform in society”, and he urged. to ensure that “not only do we live longer, but we also live better and leave nothing behind.”
For this, the new graduates of UAX Rafael Nadal School of Sport They received training in values and participated in the UAX Skill School to develop skills and obtain professional certifications in Data with IBM, Story Telling by George Town or UX Design and Scrum at Google. In addition, students of this first promotion participated in specific clinics with practical and theoretical training, accessed technical pills covering the entire spectrum of the sports industry and carried out internships with leading companies in the sector such as Club Atlético de Madrid , Asepeyo , Abbott, Clínica Centro or Superior Sports Council. In addition, 55 students undertook an internship at the prestigious international sports center of the Rafa Nadal Academy, of which 11 graduated UAX Rafael Nadal School of Sport.
Raquel Tapia, General Director of Sanofi Spain and godmother of the promotion, invited the students to “make the most of everything they have learned and take advantage of all the opportunities that life gives them.”
The end of the first promotion closes a year of achievements in alliance between UAX and the Rafa Nadal team and Rafa Nadal Academy to promote excellence in Health, Sports and Business training. A new milestone that reinforces the training model of the UAX Rafa Nadal School of Sport, in line with business needs, combining practical and theoretical teaching in workshops and clinics with Spanish sports legends and well-known professionals who have shaped in sports management, with the objective of training future leaders of the sports industry.
