A tragic accident in Spa claims the life of an 18-year-old Dutch pilot

The 18-year-old Dutch pilot Dilano Van’t Hoff was killed this Saturday morning at the Spa circuit after a fatal accident in the race of European Formula Regional of the Alpine Championship (FRECA)a test within the 24 Hours of Spa program of the GT World Challenge Europe.

Van’t Hoff collided with a rival, his car crossed the entrance of the ‘Kemmel’ straight and Adam Fitzgerald can’t yet do anything to avoid a high-speed collision with the right side of the MP Motorsport driver’s car.

Unfortunately, the fatal accident reminded another one that happened at Spa in 2019 in an F2 race when Antoine Hubert, stayed in the same place in a similar situation and suffered a high speed impact by Juan Manuel Correa.

The race was immediately suspended and medical assistance treated the drivers on the track. Van’t Hoff was found unconscious inside the cockpit and immediately taken to the medical center where they could only certify his death.
