Sevilla make Pedrosa’s inclusion official

Adrià Giner Pedrosa (Barcelona, ​​​​​​​​May 13, 1998) is a perennial left-back. Initially trained in the lower categories of UE Castelldefels and EF Gavà, at the age of 16 he arrived at the RCD Espanyol academy to join its second youth team. Two years later, at the end of the 2016/17 season, he made his debut with the blue and white subsidiary in Segunda B, where he participated in the last five days.

He settled in Espanyol B the following season and played 30 games in the Third Division, attracting the attention of Rubi, who called him up for the first time on the sixth day of the league of the 2018/19 season and made his debut, as the start and playing 90 minutes, on the 16th date in Cornellá-El Prat against Real Betis. In April 2019, he also scored his first goal in the elite, opening the scoring in a win (2-1) against Deportivo Alavés on matchday 32.

That season in 2018/19, his jump to the first team, closed with 12 appearances -and one goal- in LaLiga, four in the Copa del Rey and eleven games -and two goals- with Espanyol B, now is back in the bronze category. The following season began with David Gallego, until then the coach of the subsidiary, on the parakeet bench, facilitating Pedrosa’s definitive jump to the first team. In fact, he starts by playing in the early qualifying round for the Europa League. His first year as a full member of the first team ended with 20 games in the league -one goal-, eight for the UEL -two goals and two assists- and three for the Copa del Rey.

In the 2020/21 campaign, the left-back first collaborated to achieve an immediate return to the elite, with 32 games played in the Second Division -one goal and five assists-, as well as another in the Copa del Rey . A move that does not prevent him from continuing to be a reference on the left side of the Spanish defense, as in 2021/22 he participated in 31 of 38 league dates with a goal and an assist to his credit. He also scored once and assisted in his two cup matches.

An injury kept him out of KO this past season

Regarding the final season 2022/23, the last of his contract, Pedrosa missed a large part of the year due to injury, although he arrived in time for the final stage. Since his return in April, he has played seven games. Regarding his international facet, Pedrosa played nine games with Spain under-21 between October 2019 and May 2021. He played in the final stage of EURO 2021, where Spain was knocked out in the semifinals.
