The Slovenian rider said he was feeling better about the wrist problems that have hampered his preparations for the Tour after crashing in Liège-Baston-Liège.
“I felt better, the engine started, it was a hard day, the last climb was very hard. But I saw that there was nothing better to do and we had to attack. In the end, Adam took his chance and it was perfect” , indicated the rider, who took four bonus seconds after leading the pack of favourites.
Pogacar pointed out that the tactics of his team, which arrived with him as leader and Yates as a replacement option, “were perfectly executed” and the group’s potential was seen in the climb to the col de Pikelast port of the day.
