Tottenham show themselves to be very active in the transfer market, which officially opened in Europe on Saturday, July 1. So now it is the club that has invested the most money in strengthening its team.
In particular, Tottenham spent 136 million euros on transfers: 46.3 in between James Maddison (Leicester), 20 for the Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (Empoli) plus 40 and 30 respectively for options to purchase the Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski after playing last season with ‘spurs’ on loan from Sporting de Portugal and Juventus.
But Tottenham are not giving up and continue to work to strengthen the squad that will be led by Ange Postecoglou next season. As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, a journalist who specializes in transfers, the London club has come to an agreement with Manor Solomon, a 23-year-old Israeli winger who stood out last season in Fulham’s ranks on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Free thanks to FIFA regulations
Solomon has a contract with Shakhtar until December 2023 but could reach Tottenham as a free agent if he complies with FIFA regulations. Due to the situation caused by the Russian invasion, any player can extend his contract with one Ukrainian club for another year and join another one without transferring.
That is the possibility that Tottenham foresee to incorporate Solomon, who will undergo a medical on Tuesday and will sign a five-year contract, until June 2028. The Israeli winger made 24 appearances for Fulham in all competitions and scored five goals.
