Date:

the slovenian Tadej Pogacarthe great loser in the fifth stage of the Tour de France, where he lost more than a minute with his greatest rival, the Danish Jonas Vingegaard, acknowledged that he “a hard blow”, but that “all is not lost”.

“Vingegaard was too fast on the last climb, I tried to hold on, but there was not much to do in the face of such an attack. It became stronger. But all is not lost“, directed the winner of the 2020 and 2021 edition.

Pogacar, who is now 53 seconds behind Vingegaard overall, assured that the wrist injury he suffered in Liège-Baston-Liège prevented him from preparing normally for the Tour and that he will have his best that moment in the third week.

“It’s a strong blow, but it’s just the first stage of the mountain, we’ll see in the next few days. The goal is clear, there is motivation in the team and we will fight every day to make up time. We hope to have the strength that Jonas has today,” said the Slovenian.
