Now the cat is officially out of the bag: Elmar Hartmann succeeds Martin Ohneberg as chairman of the Vorarlberg industry federation. The task is quite challenging, as Vorarlberg’s economy is facing major upheavals.
When Martin Ohneberg took office as president of the Vorarlberg Federation of Industrialists in 2015, he did so with drums and trumpets and immediately presented a vision for Vorarlberg in the form of a “big picture”. The daring appearance at the start would become the blueprint for years to come: Ohneberg proved to be a man of clear words, unhesitatingly sticking his finger in a wound and not only expressing criticism, but also addressing it. Even if the outgoing IVV boss was only able to carry out some of his plans and not only made friends with the political decision-makers – after two terms in office he can certainly claim one thing: he has an important voice in the social discourse of the Federation of Industry promised. But above all, he freed the IV from the arrogance of an elitist lobby organization that mainly exerts its influence behind the scenes.
