Jenson Brooksby has accepted a temporary suspension of International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) after being accused of skipping three doping controls in 12 months, but the American at the same time denied the accusation.
The 22-year-old tennis player has not competed since australia tomorrow, in January, after undergoing two wrist surgeries. He reached the third round of the Grand Slam after eliminating the second seed, the Norwegian Casper Ruud.
“The temporary suspension is not an admission that I have done anything wrong; rather, I deny this allegation and await arbitration in an independent tribunal,” Brooksby said in a statement.
“I have never failed a doping control and I have never taken any substance that is not allowed. I have been tested many times, including three times after surgery in March 2023.”
Brooksby said one of the alleged missing tests took place two days before the ATP 250 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands)in June last year.
“At the time of that test it was at the official hotel of the tournament where I said I would be, and in my hotel room, and at the time I said I would be there,” he added.
