When asked about his performance, Carlos acknowledged that he played at an exceptional level, but he did not consider his match worthy of being great, suggesting that the psychological battle with Djokovic thinking about the final is underway already.
“This is probably one of my best matches, not only on grass but in my career. I’d give myself an 8 out of 10, something like that. It was incredible for me. I showed a good level,” he said. Alcaraz.
“I will try to get on the track on Sunday without too many nerves as probably in the semifinals of Roland Garros. If I win, it will be amazing for me, not only for winning the Wimbledon title, but for doing it against Novak, it will be very special. I always say that if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best and Novak is one of them”, added the Spanish tennis player, who became US Open 2022 at the youngest world No. 1 in history.
